Carlos Chandía is an agronomic engineer graduated at the Universidad Católica de Chile. He specialized in Oenology and is a member of the Oenologist Agronomic Engineer Association of Chile.

Although his first professional practice was in exports, controlling quality of table grape, very soon he approached the wine industry, working in Viña Caliterra, as winemaking assistant at La Arboleda Winery.

Then, looking for increase his oenological knowledge he traveled to France, to Burgundy, doing harvests in Chateau Peneau, Haux, great opportunity to learn about the production of so different wines, such as liquors and Cremont, typical sparkling wines from southern France.

Since 2001, Carlos works as winemaker assuming several positions, until being today chief winemaker in charge of Urmeneta for both Local and Export Markets.
